One Weekend, Two Reviews
Over the weekend Take Something Beautiful received glowing reviews by Bernard Zuel (Sydney Morning Herald) and Tim Douglas (The Australian), both giving the album 4 out of 5 stars.
“What sometimes scorching, sometimes devastating and often pointedly true songs. Interpreted by musicians who knew him well, these songs are revealed in all their potency and beauty.” - Bernard Zuel (Sydney Morning Herald)
“There’s a poignancy – a tragic prescience – to the songwriting that marked Jesse Younan as one of the staples of Sydney’s Independent music scene.” - Tim Douglas (The Australian)

ABC Breakfast Album of the Week
Keep your ears open over the next few weeks as ABC Radio National will be talking to a few of the artists featured on this tribute album. This week Take Something Beautiful was ABC Breakfast’s Album of the Week.
“It’s an intimate, uplifting listening experience as these singers, many of them personal friends of Younan, channel the essence of his art.” – ABC
Bernard Zuel shares his thoughts with us
Bernard Zuel from the Sydney Morning Herald wrote a very compassionate piece today, expressing how unique and remarkable the Take Something Beautiful album is.
“What is rare is finding a tribute album made with the same passion and commitment that went into the original recordings. Rarer still is to find one for an artist whose total album sales wouldn’t earn enough to buy the morning coffee on the set of The Voice. - Take Something Beautiful is that rarity.”
